The HB Chamber Hosts Its First Virtual Candidates Forum

Virtual City Council Candidates Forum Zoom meeting shot

The Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce hosted its first virtual City Council Candidates Forum via Zoom on Tuesday, August 18th, a free event which was open to the public. All 15 candidates were present to discuss the most prevalent issues facing residents of Huntington Beach as they gear up to run for City Council 2020 in the upcoming election on November 3rd. The two-hour long Candidates Forum was moderated by Chamber Board Member and Government Affairs Committee Chair Dianne Thompson. The open discussion consisted of yes-or-no questions, opening statements (intros) from each candidate, open ended questions and closing statements. Although this marks the first time in history that the City Council Candidates Forum has been conducted virtually due to the current state restrictions on gatherings for Covid-19, over 150 attendees registered to participate in the virtual event!
