Advancing business-friendly legislation at all levels

Committee Member Eligibility
Any Chamber investor interested in identifying and analyzing legislation, voter initiatives, and government actions that affect the local business community is encouraged to join the GAC. Active participation is required. Members must attend monthly meetings to retain their position on the committee.
Our Advocacy Mission
Advocating for the business community is a core priority of the Chamber. Local governments rely on us as the voice of business, and we work closely with public officials through platforms such as the City’s 10-Point Plan.
The GAC plays a critical role in our multi-channel advocacy efforts. Whether it's supporting or opposing legislation, backing candidates, or helping to shape public policy, the Chamber takes a thoughtful and strategic approach to ensure a strong future for Huntington Beach businesses.
Huntington Beach City Council Members
The residents of Huntington Beach are represented by a seven-member, part-time City Council. The City Council establishes policies and priorities for the provision of effective and efficient municipal services. The City Council is the city’s legislative authority and sets the policies under which the city operates. The City Council’s duties include establishing goals and policies, enacting legislation, adopting the city’s operating budget, and appropriating the funds necessary to provide service to the city’s residents, businesses, and visitors.
Huntington Beach’s mayor is selected annually from among the City Council Members and is charged with running the City Council meetings and representing the city throughout the community and region.
